Meet the TDP State Officer Candidates
TDP Officer Candidates were asked to film a video introducing themselves and explaining why they are running for office. To watch a candidate's video, click the triangular play button beneath their name. Candidates without a play button beneath their name did not submit their video to the Party prior to the submission deadline.
Dear TDP Officer Candidate:
Proposed at the 2024 Convention but not considered before adjournment, the State Democratic Executive Committee voted to add to the 2026 Call to Convention the requirement that officers be elected by electronic ballot.
The Tellers, selected by members of the 2026 Convention Committee, will start counting the ballots immediately after voting closes at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 27. The counting will be done in a central count station observable by candidate representatives. To that end, the Tellers suggest that each candidate name one representative to serve as an “election observer,” following rules similar to those of a Texas election poll watcher. Such representatives’ names should be submitted to Assistant Chief Teller Alex Meed by noon, Friday, June 26. The submission should also include contact information and congressional delegation to which the representative belongs.
No later than 4 p.m. on Friday, June 26, the designated representatives will be notified of the location of the central count station. Representatives should follow these rules:
Observe, but do not participate in, the tallying and counting of the votes to verify that the votes are tallied and read correctly.
Do not reveal the following information to anyone, especially the candidate, before the results are announced on the floor:
How a voter has voted
The number of votes that have been received for a candidate
A candidate’s position relative to other candidates in the tabulation of the votes
The names of persons who have or have not voted in the election
No audio or recording devices will be allowed in the teller room. All devices capable of making a recording must be turned off.
After tabulation has begun observers will not be allowed to leave until tabulation of all races is complete and results have been announced.
The Tellers will also provide to the candidates on Thursday morning the voting instructions that will be available to delegates digitally, on paper at the registration and help desks, and by volunteer voter helpers, who are Corpus Christi residents. Any unclear or inaccurate instructions should be flagged immediately or by 10 a.m. Friday so that there is time to make corrections before voting opens.
Names of designated representatives should be emailed to conventionhelp@txdemocrats.org by noon, Friday, June 26.
Thank you for your cooperation in ensuring a transparent, fair, and efficient election.
Deana Tollerton, PRP
Chief Teller, 2026 Texas Democratic Convention
